| Customer Reviews: Quality Product July 15, 2010 The Wiz 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to carry either a Canon 28-70 F2.8 or a Sigma 12-24. The Sigma fits perfectly. The Canon is a bit tall, but can be jammed in despite all the padding. The zips are tough so I've no worries about it bursting out. It's dead easy to attach to a belt or another Lowepro back pack thanks to the velcro fastenings. The only downside is that that Lowepro don't make this a little taller. But that's a minor gripe. I trust this to protect my lens every day. You can get cheaper, but you can't get better.
Well designed with a couple of nice little extras July 12, 2010 Mr Strathmore (East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this mainly for the SlipLock option and my excellent experience with an AW300 SlingShot backpack. The case was purchased to house a Canon EFS 17-85mm with the EW-73B hood.
Firstly, the lens fits with no problems, although it may be a little loose (as another poster commented) for this size of lens with no hood. With the hood attached I can fit the lens in with it in place. It is a snug fit but it will hold it. You may want to have the lens in place first and then invert the hood at the top of the case. This actually removes the need to include any additional packing as the hood holds the lens in place. As mentioned, you can fit the lens with the hood in-place but the zoom has a habit of extending as you pull the lens out.
Now on to the 'nice little extras'.
The case has excellent padding, all around the outside if the case and also on the base. The base padding is attached to the base by velcro and can be lifted and folded against the back of the case, although not completely removed. This gives you the added benefit of folding the case almost completely flat, if you were transporting the case separate from the lens. This is rather neat as it means I can still transport the lens on a long journey, inside my backpack, and have the case stored if I want to only take the camera and a few lenses on a belt. (This was the plan and reason for going with the SlipLock system.
The other 'nice little extra' is the inclusion of a stiffening panel which can be removed. When you look at the case, it has a flat back and this panel helps to keep that profile intact. If you want a more rounded profile, and not the flat backed on, then this can be removed to make the case a bit more flexible.
The zip is a nice double affair and the top overlaps the padding to add weather protection and also adds to the overall physical stability of the case.
Strong & well padded May 10, 2010 Chris (United Kingdom) Fits the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 with lens hood fitted or the new cannon 15-85mm lens perfectly
Good fit for Canon 10 - 22 zoom September 7, 2009 M. Gregory (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Good fit for the Canon 10 - 22 zoom.
It needs some padding to hold the Canon 18-55 zoom securely
