Essential March 8, 2010 T. Lenham (Islington, London) An essential piece of kit, functional as they come. My main concern was that it might not have a great deal of space for my non-camera items but having been on a few days out with this bag I've had no problem and would recommend it above all other bags I've owned.
Hard to get used to February 27, 2010 u07ch (UK) I like the idea of this bag. THe design feature that attracted me was rolling it around my chest and getting access to the body and lenses without removing it from my body. The Lowepro Slingshot 200 is also a good compromise size - its relatively small dimensions force you to only carry a small amount of kit so not weighing yourself down; which is something I have a tendency of doing. On small downside to its size is it wont take bodies with professional zoom lenses (e.g. 70-200mm F2.8) attached to the body and putting my flashgun in the main section takes up space for 2 lenses as the bag isn't deep enough to store the flash straight. There are few smaller pockets for storing filters or your keys and inside the main section of the bag is a small memory card slot.
Bags are a compromise on what you carry a larger bag means more weight and less travel; with the lowepro slingshot 200 i have tried using shorter lenses (or megazoom lenses) and I can carry enough variety for a good walking trip; and the bag remains light. Over the winter months I have learnt to appreciate the all weather cover that is stored inside the bag; which has kept its contents dry in rain and heavy snow.
Now for the negative; I think i am just too used to backpacks - the strap goes over your head and under your left arm and i found it kept rubbing against my neck which I am uncomfortable with. For me this was a deal breaker I need the bag to be comfortable as i use it especially as my walks are generally many miles in length; as I walked further I felt as though i was being strangled - or worse constantly fidgeting and adjusting the bag. There is a stability strap; though for me this didn't help much.
Excellent kit January 30, 2010 D. Mack (UK) This bag is a little more expensive than some others, but is well made and very well thought out. The 200 version holds my SLR, 2 lenses, flash unit filters and theres still room to spare. The bag is fine to carry all day and quick to swing round and use. Recommended
does what is says - excellent January 16, 2010 andrew d (uk) excellent product - compact, light, comfortable, good protection for equipment
easy to use. Would highly recommend if you need to carry your kit and move to shooting pictures quickly and with ease.
Good quality but a snug fit for large lenses January 15, 2010 Mr. R. M. Lathwell (Hemel Hempstead, UK) It's hard to find fault with this bag. If there is one then it's that it can be a bit of a squeeze if you have large lenses. I own a Nikon D90 which fits without any problem when with the standard lens but fitting my 70-300mm zoom is tight to say the least when either attached or separated from the camera body. It does go in, just. Anyone with anything even a fraction larger may have a problem.
In all other respects the bag fits the bill. As well as the camera with lens and the additional zoom there's also enough space in the main compartment for my wide angle lens, SB-600 speedlight and one additional lens. There's enough space in the other compartments for spare batteries, memory cards, battery charger, remote control shutter release, air blower, filters and cases. It's comfortable to wear and easy to swing round for quick access.
An ideal piece of kit just as long as you're not planning on stowing large pro lenses.
