Pluses: Can retrieve camera from bag quickly, very well constructed, good quality materials used, has a waterproof cover, dose not look like a camera bag, top compartment ok for one or two smaller items.
Minuses: The reasons for the drop in star rating is if you have one of the newer Canon pro cameras with its grip attached and a large pro lens, the bag will accommodate it but room is then limited inside to carry other pro type lens. It becomes uncomfortable it carry with a heavy load, with only a single strap.

Having treated myself to and 100-400mm lens I needed to upgrade my small bag, and after a lot of research decided on the Slingshot 300, and am very glad I did so. It fits a 450D with 100-400mm attached, plus a macro and two more lenses with no effort at all,, and by moving the dividers around I can also carry the 100-400 off the camera.
The subsidiary pocket and compartments are plenty big enough for cleaning gear, spare cards / batteries etc, although I would have liked slightly bigger pockets in the top compartment to take my filters and holder - I will just have to get a wallet to keep them in. On the plus side though, the top compartment is plenty big enough to also take a Gorillapod, plus a dog ball and other dogwalking accessories which I tend to have when out on walks with the camera!
The Slingshot system is very clever - I didn't want a backpack due to the lack of access, and this is a great compromise and also very comfortable.

The lowepro slingshot 300 AW is the perfect bag for taking along all the equipment you need, when you're out hunting for good natureshots.
The bag is very roomy: you can easily carry one of the big SLR's mounted with a large lens and three to four other lenses as well as your lunchpack.
The beauty of it is that you can design the interior to your own needs.
The bag is ergonomically designed so it is easy to carry on the back; furthermore it is practical, because you can swing it round to the front and use it as surport when you photograf.
It comes highly recomended last but not least because it has a warrenty of 30 years on stichings, zippers and the like.

I needed a camera bag which would hold my Canon Eos 50D and a good selection of lenses. I also wanted one which would be well padded, secure and robust but easy to access the camera. This bag does all of that, with adjustable compartments for lenses of varying sizes and a depth which will allow storage of the camera with a really decent sized zoom lens fitted. There are numerous pockets and compartments for spare batteries, memory cards, cleaning equipment and the most important item of all, the instruction book.
