4 out of 5 stars Just about perfect   July 20, 2010

I bought this case to complement and attach to my Lowepro Toploader Pro 70AW having recently bought a Nikon 10-24mm wide angle zoom lens. As the wide angle zoom will probably stay on my camera most of the time my existing 18-105mm compact zoom will stay in the Lowepro 2S. The lens case is a near perfect fit for the Nikon 18-105 and also takes the lens hood. I keep the (supplied) bag of silica gel in the fabric mesh pocket of the lens hood. The case is padded well enough for me and sits snugly against the side of the 70AW, strapping in securely with its velcro 'tongue'. My only small criticism is that the restraint strap loopholes on the 2S don't line up perfectly (they're too high) with the restraint strap on the 70AW and, when the lens case is 'locked' in position by the velcro tongue the restraint strap has to be pulled out of position slightly to secure the lens case against the bag. All matters considered however a small niggle... more aesthetic really. Otherwise delighted with the Lowepro 2S

The advertising literature put out for this case by Lowepro shows the case next to a Nikon 28-70mmD f2.8 AF-S lens with hood. This is highly misleading, as it implies that the lens and its hood will fit the case. In fact, they will not! The lens will fit, but with the hood fitted the case is much too narrow. I bought one of these on the strength of Lowepro's advertising literature to house my 28-70mm with its hood, and so was frustrated when it would not fit. The case in any case is in my opinion too lightweight for such a heavy and valuable lens as the 28-70mm. It would be OK for a 28-70mm Sigma or something similar. You really need something more capable for absorbing shocks for use with the fabulous Nikon 28-70mm.

we already knew the good quality of Lowepro products, as we have since a few years a camera case. Now both my husband and me have reflex digital cameras with three different lenses each, and using the cameras mostly while hiking we thought this case would be a good solution to have the lenses at hand without rummaging in the backpack every time.
This case is perfect, well padded but not heavy and can be easily and safely hooked to the backpack belt.
The case can contain my lens Minolta 70-210 and even my husband's zoom lens Canon EF 70-200.
We both are very satisfied!

This is an excellent lens case at a good price. It's got a good zip and with the thick covering will give good protection against the weather but not against dropping! It's lightweight but good quality for the price. Just make sure that the internal dimensions with fit the lens.
