Customer Reviews: Excellent Kata Bag - the right choice. February 19, 2010 R. Watson (England) I have been very thorough in my research to satisfy what I needed, specifically a bag that will do everything! I will be using this bag for my every-day work bag travelling to the office (hence laptop requirement), travelling with work including flights and hotels and for as many holidays as I can get (wherever there are waves). I will be taking my Canon 500D everywhere with me and I didn't want to have to carry two or more bags. Thanks to this little beauty, I've got everything I wanted. It's well made, well designed and very light compared to some others I went and played with in local camera shops. Now it just has to last ten years! Rich W.
Another great Kata bag December 22, 2009 StandishGeezer (UK) The DR-467 is every bit as good as previous Kata Ruckscacks I have bought, with the addition of laptop compartment. The features and craftsmanship of these products do not disappointand, and to my mind, match if not exceed what you would expect to get in the much more expensive, ubiquitous brand sold in every high street photographic store. There are ample compartments in the removeable bottom section of this bag and, like many other users leaving feedback, I value the top section which can be used for anything from rainwear to extra camera or laptop goodies. The only, very minor, issue I have is the labelling of laptop section; it is a small label but I don't really want to advertise the fact that I am carrying a laptop.
Great travel photo bag July 31, 2009 Jeffrey A. Pearson (London, England) I purchased this bag about a month ago and recently took it to Italy on a family holiday. This bag has more pockets and capacity than a pack mule! I had my Nikon D40 and 18-105 lens + tripod, as well as accessories and charger, along with loads of books, paperwork, jackets, etc. It also came in handy when we bought some fragile items...I was able to put those either in the padded zipout photo pocket or in the laptop area. Overall you cannot go wrong with this bag.
Awesome!! June 8, 2009 Brian J. Candy (Qatar) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I absolutely love this bag. I had it's little brother (DR-465 DPS) before which is a little smaller and has no facility for a laptop. I really liked that bag as well. Then the need to fly came into play. I needed a bag that would allow me to Carry my precious camera and laptop onto a plane as cabin baggage. I visited many photo shops, and looked at many camera bags, and this backpack won hands down. My 16" 16:9 wide screen laptop just fits, and there is loads of room for all my lenses, power supplies, filters, cables etc. Also my Slik SBH-100 tripod fits snugly on the side using the supplied straps and a small rubber loop at the bottom of the bag where one leg screw adjust foot just fits in.
I have also trekked around Cornwall in hot sun, and wet showers. The shower cover came out, and fitted perfectly, preventing any water getting through. The pack is comfortable, and easy to put on/off. Camera, laptop and loads of bits, create quite a lot of weight, but I was able to strut around without realising how much was on my back.
Even bags costing significantly more (double) did not appeal to me as much as the Kata DR-467 DPS. I 100% recommend it. Hope this helps :)
Good Bag April 29, 2009 S. Almonacid (London) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Although the bag is good quality and I bought it at a fair price, the waist belt is to short ( for those with a few extra pounds!!) and to thin. The tripod holder is not the best, but I supposed does the job.
Personally is missing a removable independent poach to hold all those small things, even though the bag has 4 front small pockets and a way to secure the waterproof cover in case of winds. I ended using the waterproof cover upside down to be able to attached it to the top of bag an avoid losing it!!.
